A new-to-Texas dual-branded hotel is now open near the Texas Medical Center, offering nearly 300 rooms that cater to both short- and long-term guests. The Hyatt Place Houston Medical Center and Hyatt House Houston Medical Center opened this week at 7329 Fannin St., near Old Spanish Trail. The 14-story, 350,000-square-foot tower has a total of 298 rooms, 5,900 square feet of meeting and event space and a 2,000-square-foot rooftop pool deck with an accompanying bar. The new hotel marks the first time that Chicago-based Hyatt Hotels Corp.
