Family, friends and community members held a vigil Wednesday night for Maira Gutierrez. She was kidnapped Oct. 3 and later found shot to death, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend. The case of Takara Hightower has made national headlines after she was murdered, allegedly by her husband. Both women had made reports alleging abuse before their deaths.
