The top five teams in our Best in Texas poll remained the same as many area teams gear up for conference play next week. Texas took the top spot in the poll for a third straight week after picking up a 31-10 win over Wyoming. The only remaining undefeated team in the state earned all nine first-place votes. TCU ranked second in the poll after a convincing 36-13 win over new Big 12 rival Houston. Texas A&M held onto the No. 3 spot after beating Louisiana-Monroe 47-3. SMU rounded out the top four after its 69-0 win over Prairie View A&M.
